All The WEEK 8 Scores And The WEEK 9 Schedule; Lahainaluna Sweeps Season Series Against Maui

—–

Bedrock Sports Hawaii has all of your Hawaii high school football WEEK 8 scores and the WEEK 9 schedule.

The weekend full of 22 games wrapped up Saturday with 10 contests.

On the Valley Island on Saturday, Lahainaluna won a big 17-7 game against MIL Division I rival Maui at War Memorial Stadium. The Lunas (6-0, 5-0),  who already clinched the MIL’s first-round D-I title, are close to clinching the league’s overall D-I title because they have now won the two games they’ll play against the their closest competitors, the Sabers, this season. The only way Maui (4-2, 3-2) can make a championship game necessary is if the Sabers (0-1 in the second round) or Baldwin (0-1 second round) finish with a better second-round record than Lahainaluna (1-0 second round). Otherwise that D-I championship and state berth will belong to the Lunas.

At the Kailua High field, Kalaheo broke an eight-game losing streak by beating McKinley 37-0. The Tigers have now lost 19 in a row, dating back to Sept. 7, 2019, when they beat the Mustangs 6-3.

Also on Saturday, two highly competitive BIIF Division II games were played. Kohala and Ka’u, two schools who played for a handful of years with 8-man football only, came close to knocking off higher teams in the standings. The Cowboys lost to league leader Honokaa 10-7, and the Trojans were beaten by Hawaii Prep 20-14.

Below are all the WEEK 8 scores and WEEK 9 schedule.
