Senior Evan Miyashiro captured the Interscholastic League of Honolulu sporter air riflery individual championship on Saturday.
In addition, Miyashiro led the Owls to the team victory last week.
Miyashiro scored 538-16 points in prone, standing and kneeling combined. The match was held with all ILH teams shooting in their own facilities due to COVID-19 health reasons.

Island Pacific junior Ryan Fitzgerald finished in second place individually with 537.14.
In the team race, coach Jon Narimatsu’s Owls won all four matches during the season that was moved from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2021 because of the pandemic. As a team, Mid-Pacific finished with an average of 1,029.8 points per match. The next closest competitor was Punahou, with 1,010.5.
Jordan Lampitelli, Ethan Harrison, Brandon Lum and Colby Fujino, who helped Mid-Pacific to the team championship, all finished in the top 20 individually.
The Owls have been a top sporter air riflery school statewide for a long time. Under the guidance of Narimatsu, the girls team took the state championship in 2013, 2015 and 2018, and the boys team won state titles in 2014 and 2018.
