Hawaii Wrestlers Nanea Estrella And Alana Vivas Are Runners-Up At Women’s Nationals; Emma Yamamoto Is An 8U Winner

Hawaii’s Nanea Estrella and Alana Vivas placed second in their divisions at the USMC Women’s Nationals in Forth Worth Texas, May 6-9.

Estrella,  a Lahainaluna graduate and four-time state high school champ who wrestled for Menlo College before transferring to compete for the University of Iowa later this year, was the runner-up in the U20, 59-kilogram (130 pounds) division.

Vivas, who won a Hawaii state championship for Kamehameha and now wrestles for Menlo, took second in the U23 55-kg (121 pounds) class.
