Kaiser Makes It Into OIA Division II Playoffs

Kaiser clinched a spot in the OIA Division II playoffs with a 46-12 victory over Kalaheo at the Roosevelt High field.

The Cougars (4-2, 4-3) join league front-runner Nanakuli (6-1, 6-0) and second place Pearl City (6-2, 5-1) in the postseason.

One of the teams with the Bulldogs nickname — Waialua (4-4, 3-3) or Kaimuki (3-3, 3-4) — will make also make the four-team playoff field. Kaimuki holds the tiebreaker, having beaten Waialua 53-33 on Sept. 16.

The only way Waialua can make it in is if it beats Pearl City on Friday and Kaimuki loses to Kalaheo (1-7, 1-5) on Saturday at the Farrington field.

Konawaena And Hilo Lock Up Spots In BIIF Championship Game

Konawaena 61-0 win over Waiakea, and Hilo’s 70-0 win over Kealakehe put the Wildcats (6-1, 6-0) and Vikings (5-2, 5-1) into the BIIF D-I championship game, which will be held either Oct. 28 or 29 at a site and time to be determined.

On Friday at Konawaena, the two teams meet for the second time this season. On Sept. 2, the Wildcats topped the Vikings 51-6.
