OIA Revises Football Schedule To Fit The Delayed Oct. 15 Starting Date Of Games

The Oahu Interscholastic Association released its revised football schedule Wednesday. The first games of the season were originally scheduled to be Aug. 6, but due to a COVID-19 delay by the Department of Education, the opening weekend was moved to Oct. 15.

Official practice will start Sept. 24. The private school Interscholastic League of Honolulu’s regular season starts Friday. That league is not under the direction of the DOE.

The OIA put out its revised football schedule. The season starts
Oct. 15, a nine-week delay due to COVID-19.

Hawaii’s three other leagues — the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation and the Maui Interscholastic League — have yet to release their revised schedules.

The ILH regular season will be ending in October, about the time the other four leagues, including the OIA, are beginning. The state tournament will be held in late December and early January.

Go to BedrockSportsHawaii.com’s home page and scroll down a little bit for the 2021 Hawaii high school football master schedule. It will include all of the league’s schedules when they become available and is a place for fans to go to early and often this fall for the latest changes.

In other news, the Saint Louis II vs. Pac-Five game, an ILH Division I/II contest originally scheduled for Friday at Aloha Stadium, has been canceled. Bedrock will be trying to find out the reason for that cancellation. It is believed it has to do with a COVID-19 positive test.

The revised OIA schedule is below.
