Waipahu, Damien, Kamehameha-Hawaii And PAC-5 Enter Bedrock Sports Hawaii’s Power 5s

Welcome Waipahu, Damien, Kamehameha-Hawaii and PAC-5.

You are the newest teams to enter the Bedrock Sports Hawaii Power 5s on Wednesday as we head into Week 3 of the high school football season.

With three teams entering, that means three teams dropped out. Those squads dropping out were Kapaa, Konawaena and Kaiser.

Votes were taken from a panel of sports journalists from across the state.

The biggest shakeup came in Division II, where Kamehameha-Hawaii, by virtue of its 25-21 win over Kamehameha-Maui, broke into the poll all the way to No. 1. That’s because in last week’s rankings, Kamehameha-Maui (returning D-II state runner-up) was at the top of the list.

Waipahu entered in D-I with a quality win 36-25 win over Open Division squad Leilehua.

Two ILH teams, Damien and PAC-5, got the interest of voters by winning a second straight game.

Below is a capsule look at Bedrock Sports Hawaii’s Power 5s movement since last week. After that, at the bottom, you can check out the Hawaii high school football Week 3 schedule.
