Five teams clinched state berths in Hawaii high school football Friday night — Farrington and Waipahu in Division I and Roosevelt, Kamehamameha-Hawaii and Kamehameha-Maui in D-II.
The Govs held on to beat Kailua 13-10 to advance to next week’s OIA D-I title game against Waipahu.
The Marauders dropped Leilehua 37-21 in the other OIA-D-I semifinal.
The KS-Maui Warriors defeated King Kekaulike 42-14 in the MIL D-II championship game.
On the Big Isle, the KS-Hawaii Warriors upended Hawaii Prep in the BIIF D-II title game.
Also, the Rough Riders stopped a Kaiser 2-point conversion within the final 2 minutes to earn a 35-34 victory in an OIA D-II semifinal.
Eight of the 16 state tournament spots have been secured. Here’s the picture:

>> If Lahainaluna wins Saturday at home against Maui, it will qualify for the state D-I tournament. If the Lunas lose, another game will be needed next week to determine which team moves on.

Kaimuki clinched a playoff spot last night. beat undefeated pearl city.Kaimuki started the season slow but came on strong at the end. Hope they do well next week agains Roosevelt. At least kaimuki made the states. proud of the bulldogs with limited rooster size.Todays sunday star advertiser no story on the victory last night. but had other stories about punahoe,mililani and kahuku victory.Proud of the Bulldogs
