2023 Texaco Wrestling State Championships Brackets Are Out; 14 Are Competing For A Second Title

—–

The brackets for this weekend’s Texaco/HHSAA Wrestling State Championships are out.

The event will start Friday at the Cannon Activities Center on the campus of Brigham Young-Hawaii in Laie, with the finals scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m.

After the following item about two hard-working people behind the wrestling scenes, you’ll see the top four seeds in all 28 weight classes.

OIA Coordinator Darnell Arceneaux Gives Kudos To Mike Chang And Ku’u Robinson

Of the many involved behind the scenes putting the brackets together, OIA wrestling coordinator Darnell Arceneaux pointed out that two people in particular have done a fantastic job, especially with integrating the Trackwrestling.com website with the state tournament (as well as previous events this season) as a way to post official scoring.

“Mike Chang and Ku’u Robinson, I can’t say enough about them,” Arceneaux told Bedrock Sports Hawaii on Wednesday. “For them, it’s all about the sport. They never have a bias toward any wrestler and are willing to go over and beyond what is called for. We’re lucky to have both of them. They contribute to the growth of wrestling.”
