The stories keep on coming out of Kahuku.
Two juniors from the state Open Division football champion Red Raiders are hitting their strides in other sports this winter.
Chansen Garcia, a football defensive back, placed 17th in the 200-meter dash (23.40 seconds) and 18th in the 60-meter dash (7.21) at the Spokane High School Invitational track and field meet in Washington on Jan. 16.
Garcia, who has a 4.52-second 40-yard dash under his belt, has a football offer from Navy and is expected to be a top sprinter in Hawaii high school track this spring.
Below is a video of Garcia winning one of his heats from the Spokane meet as part of the Spartan Track Club Hawaii.

Carvalho Plays The ‘Other’ Football, Too
Kainoa Carvalho, the mighty-mite receiver and offensive state player of the year for the Red Raiders during football season, has five goals this winter for the Kahuku soccer team.
In a recent 4-3 upset of Kalani, Carvalho scored three goals for the Red Raiders (7-3) who are in the chase for an OIA D-I championship. They open the upcoming playoffs against Campbell.
Carvalho is up to two Division I FBS college offers — Utah, and most recently, Utah State.
