Liona Lefau chose Texas.
And now he can concentrate on playing football for Kahuku High School this fall.
The 6 foot, 211-pound linebacker, who had at least 24 other Division I FBS college offers, committed to play for the Longhorns starting in the 2023 season.

Lefau and the rest of his Red Raiders teammates will be defending their state Open Division championship in 2022. He was the Bedrock Sports Hawaii defensive player of the year in 2021.
According to Rivals.com, Lefau chose the Longhorns over Utah and Oregon.

“It was a tough decision. I had good relationships with all the coaches at all three schools,” Lefau told Rivals.com. “Me and my parents have a good relationship with coach (Jeff) Choate and Jake Langi (at Texas). That was a big factor in it.”
Lefau announced his commitment Saturday via a video on Twitter, where he wrote “1000%” an apparent nod to just how much he is committed to the Longhorns.
