Kahuku’s Stanley Raass Makes Statement In Discus; Hawaii Track And Field Top 5 Update

Kahuku’s Stanley Raass looks like he’s peaking at the right time this track and field season.

Raass, a senior who was a standout defensive lineman for the Red Raiders’ Open state championship football team in the fall, now has the top discus throw in the state so far in 2023.

On Saturday in the OIA Eastern Division championship meet at the Kaiser High track, Raass heaved the discus 158 feet, 9 inches. It surpassed his previous personal best of 141-5.5 by 17-3.5 inches.
