All Of The WEEK 11 Scores And The WEEK 12 Schedule; Kailua Nips Roosevelt At End, 30-29

—–

Saturday was a slow night as far as key matchups with playoff implications go.

The biggest Hawaii high school football game of the night, of course, happened on the North Shore, where Kahuku repeated as OIA Open regular season champion by erasing a two-point second half deficit to beat Mililani 29-17.

That settled the OIA Open playoff bracket. In next weekend’s semifinals, the Red Raiders (8-2, 6-0) are at home against Kapolei (6-3, 3-3), and the Trojans (6-3, 5-1) take on visiting Campbell (6-2, 4-2)/

In OIA Division I, before heading to next week’s playoffs, Kailua finished the regular season on a positive note with a 30-29 victory over Roosevelt.

The Surfriders (4-3-1, 4-2) trailed late in the fourth quarter and won it on Nainoa Smith-Akana’s 23-yard touchdown catch on a pass from Romeo Ortiz.

In the KIF, watch out for Kapaa, which has won three in a row, including Saturday’s 28-7 win over Kauai High to take over first place in the league. The Warriors will meet Waimea in two weeks in a game that will decide the overall league crown. Both teams have already clinched state berths, with Kapaa — the defending Division II state champion — giving it a go in D-I and the Menehunes in D-II.
