Hawaii high school teams went 0-2 on the mainland Friday as WEEK 7 commenced.
Saturday, Kahuku (5-0) gives the 808 another chance on the continent in a game against MaxPreps No. 1 St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California.
On Friday, Mililani (4-2) dropped a 42-14 game to Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) in Bellflower. Those winning Monarchs (5-0) are ranked No. 1 in the USA Today Super 25 and the High School Football America 100 and won the MaxPreps national championship in 2021.

In the other Friday Hawaii vs. mainland game, Liberty (Henderson, Nevada) got past visiting Kamehameha 25-18.
With the win, the Patriots improved to 2-3 and the Warriors dropped to 0-3-1.
Pearl City, Nanakuli Headed For Big Showdown
Pearl City held off an amazing comeback bid from Kaiser on Friday, winning 27-21.
The Cougars’ Donovan Reis, after catching a pass on the last play of the game, sped to the Pearl City 7 before being tackled by Shyne Kalilikane-McMoore as time ran out.

So now, the Chargers (5-1, 4-0 OIA Division II) will be in a first-place showdown at home next Friday against Nanakuli (4-1, 4-0).
Also on Friday, the Golden Hawks upended Kalaheo 40-0.
Ofa Vehikite Is On Fire For Kaimuki
In another OIA D-II game of note Friday, visiting Kaimuki won its third straight and moved into third place in the league by topping Waialua 53-33
Running back Ofa Vehikite rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way.
Vehikite has now rushed for more than 200 yards in the last last four games for the city Bulldogs (3-1, 3-2).
With the loss, the North Shore’s Bulldogs fell to 2-4 and 1-3 in the league.
Kamehameha-Maui Is On The Board With A Victory, Finally
On the Valley Isle at War Memorial Stadium, Kamehameha-Maui won its first game of the season after four close losses. The Warriors (1-4, 1-3), who made it all the way to the Division II state championship game in 2021, topped Baldwin, 55-19.
None of Kamehameha-Maui’s losses have been by more than eight points:
>> Aug. 13: Kamehameha-Hawaii 25, at Kamehameha-Maui 21
>> Aug. 27: At King Kekaulike 24, Kamehameha-Maui 16
>> Sept. 3: Lahainaluna 21, at Kamehameha-Maui 14
>> Sept. 9: Maui 10, Kamehameha-Maui 3, at War Memorial Stadium
Usually an MIL contender, the Bears (0-5, 0-4) remain winless.
