Hawaii has at least 12 senior wrestlers who will be going on to compete in college.
Bedrock previously reported on nine of them: At Least 9 Hawaii Seniors Will Wrestle In College Next Season.
We’ve since learned there are at least three more.
The latest to sign with colleges are Kamehameha’s Akoni Kaaialii with San Francisco State University, Mid-Pacific’s Valynn Kwan with Menlo College (Atherton, California) and Moanalua’s Isabelle Asuncion with the University of Providence (Great Falls, Montana).
Asuncion is a two-time 117-pound state champion and a three-time state placer who was named the Hawaii winner of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award last week.
Kaaialii, the 145-pound state champion and two-time state placer, will be joining Warriors teammate Traven Wailehua, who signed earlier this spring, at SFSU.
Kwan is also a two-time state placer, having taken third at 138 pounds the last two seasons.
