In Bedrock’s Final 2021 Football Top 10, The 3 State Champions Land At Nos. 1, 4 and 5

The Bedrock Sports Hawaii final Hawaii high school football Top 10 is out.

As expected, Kahuku finished at No. 1, followed by Saint Louis and Mililani, the two teams the Red Raiders beat for the state Open Division and OIA championships.

The biggest movement came at No. 4, where ‘Iolani planted itself solidly after a 38-0 rout of Lahainaluna in the Division I state title game. The Raiders were previously No. 7.

Kapaa, the Division II state champion, moved up three spots to No. 5 after rushing for 477 yards in a 61-7 romp over Kamehameha-Maui in the finale.

In other movement:

>> Campbell, the OIA’s third-place Open team and a state qualifier, dropped two spots to No. 6.
>> Lahainaluna, the MIL D-I champion, fell one spot to to No. 7.
>> Kamehameha, which did something not too many teams have ever done (beat Saint Louis twice in one season ) tumbled three slots to No. 8.
>> Big Island D-I champion Konawaena and runner-up Hilo re-entered the Top 10 at Nos. 9 and 10.
>> Previous Nos. 9, the OIA D-II champion, and No. 10 Hawaii Prep, the BIIF D-II champion, dropped out of the Top 10.

2021 FINAL Bedrock Sports Hawaii Top 10:
>> 1. Kahuku (10-0) … Red Raiders won a ninth state championship in a magical, undefeated season
>> 2. Saint Louis (6-4) … After a long layoff, Crusaders got outmuscled by Kahuku in state Open title game
>> 3. Mililani (5-3) … Trojans’ only losses were to Kahuku twice and Saint Louis once
>> 4. Iolani (11-0) … Raiders had the most wins in the state
>> 5. Kapaa (8-0) … Warriors unleashed a gigantic offensive line to win Garden Isle’s first state title
>> 6. Campbell (5-4) … Sabers wound up with two losses each to Kahuku and Mililani
>> 7. Lahainaluna  (7-1) … Lunas were one win away from making the jump from state D-II champ to state D-I champ
>> 8. Kamehameha (3-3) … Warriors’ season ended early, but not before going 2-1 vs. eventual ILH champion Saint Louis
>> 9. Konawaena (6-1) … Wildcats’ powerful passing game stalled in the wind at states vs. overpowering Lahainaluna
>> 10. Hilo (4-2) … Lost the BIIF D-I championship to Konawaena by one point, 13-12
