Kauai Boys And Waimea Girls Wrestle To KIF Championships

The Kauai High boys and Waimea girls wrestled to KIF team championships on Saturday at the Waimea gym.

Thomas Ramos (108 pounds), Jayden Manibog (122), Ka-Lel Butac-Sagucio (162),
Nakoa Lovell-Obatake (197) and Walker Turpin (222) led the way for the Red Raiders by winning individual titles.

Kayleigh Martinez (104), Mary Joy Angala (109) and Skyelynn Ripley (157) won individual championships for the Waimea girls.

Kapaa’s Nathan Marovish, top, is the KIF’s 172-pound champion.

KIF 147-pound champion Meleana Rita of Kauai High, top, scored a comeback victory by fall over KIF 157-pound champ Skyelynn Ripley of Waimea in an exhibition match Saturday.
