MIL Football Schedule Includes Intriguing Nonleague Games

—–

The 2023 MIL football schedule was published by the Maui News on Tuesday and Bedrock Sports Hawaii is bringing it to you below.

Lahainaluna in Division I and King Kekaulike in Division II will be defending their league titles.

Along with all five MIL teams playing an eight-game league slate, the schedule also includes eight nonleague games against opponents from other islands or the mainland.

King Kekaulike, shown during a Division II state championship loss to Waimea in 2022, will be playing a rematch against the Menehunes in a 2023 nonleague game.

King Kekaulike, which went as far as the Division II state championship game a year ago, scheduled two teams that also qualified for the D-II states — eventual champion Waimea from Kauai and Honokaa from the Big Island.

Na Alii’s Aug. 19 game on the Garden Isle against Waimea is a rematch of the D-II state title game in which the Menehunes won, 45-6.

Two MIL teams, Baldwin and Lahainaluna, play Edison (Huntington Beach, California) in successive weeks on the Valley Isle. The visiting Tigers finished No. 108 in the 2022 High School Football America 300.
