Baldwin’s Tobey Ravida wrapped up the 126-pound weight class at the MIL championships on Saturday on the Bears’ home gym and now has his sights set on a second state championship this weekend on Oahu at the Blaisdell Arena.
Ravida, who is undefeated and ranked as Bedrock Sports Hawaii’s No. 3 pound-for-pound wrestler, didn’t have an easy time of it, edging Kamehameha-Maui upstart freshman Mikah Labuanan 9-6 in the final.
Tobey Ravida is pictured right after winning his state title in 2020.
Seven other MIL wrestlers won titles Saturday and remained unbeaten in 2022 — Lanai’s Diesel Del Rosario at 120 pounds, Baldwin’s Gabriel Valdez at 16o, Kaceylee Pua at 155 and Liana Ferreira at 102, and Lahainaluna’s Catherine Asami at 184, Keawe Kane-Keahi at 182 and Alicia Frank at 127.
