Nanakuli Clinches OIA D-II Playoff Spot; All The Friday WEEK 8 Scores

Nanakuli’s clinched an OIA Division II playoff spot with its 21-3 victory over Pearl City on Friday night.

On a muggy night in Central Oahu, the westside Golden Hawks (5-1, 5-0) were locked in a close, 8-3 game until the late stages in the battle of league unbeatens. Nanakuli still has work to do to take the OIA D-II title outright.

With the loss, the Chargers (5-2, 4-1) will continue their heated effort against league foes to get into the four-team postseason field.

In another top matchup Friday night, Kahuku bounced back from its 34-7 loss in Bellflower, California, to national No. 1 St. John Bosco with a convincing 35-0 win over previously undefeated Kapolei.

The defending Open Division state champion Red Raiders (6-1, 4-0 OIA Open) came into the game ranked No. 1 in Hawaii by ScoringLive.com. The Hurricanes (5-1, 2-1) are sl0tted at No. 6.
