RIVALS WAIKIKI GAME OF THE WEEK

Michael Kawazoe’s hat trick paced the Firebirds to a 7-2 victory over Dorado in the Kapolei Inline Hockey Association’s Division IV summer championship game last Thursday.

Kawazoe’s two first-half goals and one each by Jason Graves and Julie Nahoi-Baricar gave the Firebirds a 4-0 lead, and Dorado never got back in the game that was also BedrockSportsHawaii’s RIVALS WAIKIKI GAME OF THE WEEK.

CJ Bassingthwaite, Jason Asato and goalie Brysson Nikaido also had a hand in the victory.

Dorado’s Brett Freeland finished tied with the Firebirds’ Graves as the season’s top point-getter with 14 and he was also the leading goal scorer with 10  to go along with his four assists. Teammate Michael Schittone led the league in assists with seven.
