Seven ILH Judoka Repeat As Individual League Champions; PAC-5 Takes Team Titles

Seven ILH judoka repeated as individual champions at the league’s championship meet last week.

The repeat girls champions are Punahou’s Charlotte Campbell (109 pounds) and Kelly Ann Ichimura (115), ‘Iolani’s Maya Rose DeAngelo (122) and PAC-5’s Kailene Tanji-Seki (220).

On the boys side, the repeat champs are PAC-5’s Elisha Lum (114) and Noa Frasco (132) and Mid-Pacific’s Logan Lau (121).

PAC-5 took home the boys and girls team championships.

Some of the Wolfpack leading the way to the team title, in addition to Lum and Frasco, were 198-pound champion Sean Fitch and placers Brennan Lau, Toma Kaai, Braeden Fukuda, Gabriel Tyau, Carson Suzuki and Ezekiel Lum,

Among those contributing to PAC-5’s girls team championship, aside from Tanji-Seki, were Joelle Lum (103-pound champion) and placers Sydney Lau, Zoey Matsukawa, E.D. Murakami, Haley Lau, Blu Wong-Ogata, Zen Wong-Ogata, Misha Watanabe, Marina Koida and Lola Gates.

Two ILH judoka — Mid-Pacific’s Lau and Punahou’s Ichimura — will be going for a second straight title at the Odom Corporation/HHSAA Hawaii Judo State Championships on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
