Pearl City improved to 5-0 in OIA Division II football with a 28-14 win over Kalaheo on Friday night.
The Chargers (6-0 overall) are in front of three teams tied for second place in the league – Roosevelt, Kaiser and Kaimuki, all at 3-2.
After that, three more teams are close behind at 2-3 — Kalaheo, Kalani and Waialua.
Only four teams make the playoffs, so it should be a wild race until the end of the regular season.
Elsewhere on Friday, Konawaena moved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the BIIF D-I by routing Waiakea 77-7. The Wildcats are ranked No. 8 in Hawaii by ScoringLive.com.
