It’s a keystone of democracy — getting a consensus.
So, yeah, you may like one set of rankings over another, but when you get input from ALL of the media in the business of rating teams and not just one, then you have a deeper picture into the reality of the strongest teams out there on the field.
And so Bedrock Sports Hawaii brings you the first Hawaii High School Football Consensus Top 10.
If you’re looking for surprises, you’ve come to the wrong place because the three media outlets who have been publishing rankings all season — KHON2’s Cover 2, Scoring Live’s Top 10 and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser/HawaiiPrepWorld.com Top 10 — have relatively similar rankings.
Consensus rankings are not new. You can find consensus college football rankings by searching for it on the Internet.
There is one addition to this debut of consensus high school football rankings. Bedrock Sports Hawaii is throwing its hat into this particular ring, with its first Top 10 of the season. Bedrock ran a Top 10 all through the 2021 season, but so far in 2022, has only published its Power 5s (rankings of the Top 5 teams in the Open Division, D-I and D-II).
