So far, it’s a summer well spent for the travel players from Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas.
The KIHA Warriors 14-U team went all the way at the North American Roller Hockey Championships finals in Irvine, California, last week.
The Warriors hoisted the championship trophy in the Silver Division by winning all six of their games.
After winning four round-robin and one semifinal game, KIHA — led by the goal scoring and playmaking of Elijah Chavez-Connell and Jaxon Pang — topped Pure Octane 5-2 in the championship game.
It’s a busy time for Hawaii’s top inline players. KIHA’s 10-and-under Silver Division team and the Kona Rink Rats men’s Silver Division team from the Big Island also took part at the NARCH finals last week. In addition, two KIHA players — Jaden Nahoi-Baricar and Lance Hamilton — were part of the Sin City Barons 21-under Platinum Division team that made it to the semifinals before losing 5-1 to Skittles at NARCH.
This week, NARCH continues with appearances by KIHA’s 6-U and 12-U teams in the Silver Division and KIHA’s men’s and women’s teams in the Gold Division. Bedrock Sports Hawaii will update you on those teams when the tournament wraps up. KIHA is also sending a girls team to a tournament in Michigan this month.
