Another Hawaii vs. mainland game has been scheduled, Bedrock Sports learned recently.
Saint Louis coach Ron Lee confirmed Wednesday that the Crusaders will be playing Desert Pines (Las Vegas) on Sept. 1 in Nevada. The game will be at the Liberty High field in Henderson, Nevada, and according to Campbell coach Darren Johnson, it’s part of a doubleheader that also features Campbell at Liberty.
That latter game was reported here earlier.
It’s the second week in a row Saint Louis will be playing a game in Nevada. The Crusaders go against Liberty on the Patriots’ home field a week earlier, on Aug. 25. That has been on the books for a while.
Desert Pines went 8-3 a year ago in a season that concluded with a 41-3 postseason loss to Bishop Gorman.
The number of 2023 Hawaii vs. mainland games is up to 21 so far.
