Top 2027 QB Recruit Trent Seaborn Has Hawaii Roots

—–

Trent Seaborn is going into his freshman year of high school and is already a top college football recruit.

Before moving to Colorado and then to Alabama, he lived his younger years and began playing football in Hawaii.

And believe it or not, as an eighth grader last season, Seaborn threw five TD passes in a winning 7A state championship game performance for the Thompson High varsity team in Alabaster, Alabama.

Now, he is the holder of at least 11 Division I FBS offers — Arkansas, Arizona State, Hawaii, Maryland, Marshall, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Troy and Wisconsin.

Remember now, the kid has four years of high school left, so if he continues to excel and improve, then those offers will most likely continue to pile up.

And although he is already 6 feet, 1 inch and 178 pounds, he will also likely grow quite a bit.

QBHitList.com ranks Seaborn as the nation’s No. 1 QB recruit from the Class of 2027.

If Thompson High in Alabaster, Alabama, sounds familiar, it’s probably because you have indeed heard of it. That’s where former Kapolei QB Taulia Tagovailoa (Maryland’s star quarterback who will be a senior this fall) went for his last two years of high school. At that time, Tagovailoa and his family moved all that way to be near Taulia’s older brother Tua Tagovailoa (now the Miami Dolphins’ starting QB), who embarked on his college career in 2017 at the University of Alabama after leading Saint Louis to the Hawaii Open state championship.

Galu Tagovailoa — a coach and the father of Tua and Taulia — has much to do with this story, according to Trent’s dad, Jason Seaborn.

“Coach Galu led us to finding out about Thompson and (Warrriors) coach Mark Freeman and the program,” Jason Seaborn said in this video by CBS 42 in Alabama.

In youth football, Seaborn played for the Ewa Beach Sabers and the All Blacks Crusaders.

In grade school, he went to Waialua Elementary in first grade, Mauka Lani Elementary in Makakilo in second grade, and Holomua Elementary in Ewa Beach in third grade.

Below is footage of Seaborn’s big 2022 state championship game performance.

And here’s a tweet from Seaborn about his recent workouts with Taulia Tagovailoa:
