Every year, the Hawaii Hall of Honor inducts 12 high school senior athletes to its long list that began in 1983.
And every year, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser pulls out all the stops and creates a nice package of stories and photos on all 12. The paper’s sports department knows all about these kids’ accomplishments over the past four years. They’ve been there covering them, with game and feature articles in the section and its accompanying Hawaii Prep World website.
The Hall of Honor Class of 2020 was named May 25.

In the Star-Advertiser’s four-page spread in Sunday’s newspaper, there is an introductory welcome from Hawaii High School Athletic Association executive director Chris Chun as well as some inspiring words written by the late K. Mark Takai in 2016 just before his death. Takai, whose message was written for the Class of 2016, was inducted to the Hall of Honor in 1985.
